Pointe du Hoc Visitor Center

The American Battle Monuments Commission is opening to the public a new visitor center at the Pointe du Hoc in Cricqueville en Bessin, France on March 15, 2014.

The visitor center tells the story of individual competence, courage and sacrifice, using an array of interpretive exhibits and multimedia to put the battle of Pointe du Hoc, D-Day landings and follow-on battle in Europe in perspective as one of the greatest military achievements of all time.

The Paris-based firm, Nicolas Kelemen Architecture, designed the new center, which was built by Hervé (Vinci Construction France). Exhibit design is by the U.S. firm of Gallagher & Associates, Silver Spring, Md and exhibit fabrication by Sequoia, based in Épône, France.
