Captain Zorn was a member of the Wild Weasel Squadron, 388th Tactical Fighter Wing. On September 17, 1972, he was the pilot of a Republic Thunderchief (F105-G) on a mission over North Vietnam, when his aircraft was hit by hostile fire and crashed in the Gulf of Tonkin. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
