Notes
Major Wellons was a member of the 4th Tactical Fighter Squadron. On August 17, 1970, he was the bombardier/navigator of a McDonnell Douglas Phantom II Fighter (F-4E) over Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam, when his aircraft was shot down. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
