Captain Walker was a member of the 20th Tactical Air Support Squadron at Danang, South Vietnam. On April 7, 1972, he was the pilot of a North American Rockwell Bronco (OV10-A) directing naval gunfire over South Vietnam, when his aircraft was hit by hostile fire and crashed. He ejected safely and avoided capture for 11 days. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
