Notes
Captain Wagener was a member of the 14th Air Commando Wing. On October 20, 1966, he was the pilot of a Douglas Skyraider Attack Aircraft (A1-E) on a mission 20 miles north of the Demilitarized Zone in Quang Binh Province, when his aircraft was shot down. His remains were recovered on January 13, 1996 and identified on September 4, 1997. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
