Disinterred Unknown

In August 2014, the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency exhumed the remains of an Unknown Soldier buried in Plot N Row 14 Grave 78 at Manila American Cemetery with the belief that an identification could be made. DNA analysis and historical evidence were used to positively identify the remains as belonging to Cpl. Frederick G. Collins, Jr., who served with the Quartermaster Corps, and lost his life on November 19, 1942. His name is permanently inscribed on the Walls of the Missing at Manila American Cemetery.
