Notes
Major Stowers was a member of the 390th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Da Nang Air Base, South Vietnam. On March 21, 1968, he was the bombardier/navigator of a McDonnell Douglas Phantom II Fighter (F-4D) on a mission 20 miles southwest of the Ban Karai Pass, Laos. His aircraft was struck by hostile fire and crashed on the side of a hill. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
