Major Sizemore was a member of 609th Special Operations Squadron, Nakhon Phanom Airfield, Thailand. On July 8, 1969, he was the pilot of a Douglas Counter Invader Attack Aircraft (A-26A) on a hunter killer mission over the plain of Jars region of Xiangkhoang Province, Laos. When about 12 miles south of Ban Na Mai, his aircraft was shot down. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. MAJ Sizemore's remains have been recovered and identified.
