Chief Aviation Machinist's Mate Sessons was a member of the U.S. Navy. On September 19, 1950, he was a passenger of a C-54 Skymaster transport from Kwajalein to Japan. The aircraft crashed and exploded shortly after takeoff killing all 26 Naval personnel on board.
