Major Sebille was a pilot of a F-51D Mustang fighter and commanded the 67th Fighter-Bomber Squadron, 18th Fighter-Bomber Group. On August 5, 1950 near Hamchang, Korea, he was conducting an attack upon a concentration of enemy troops when his aircraft was struck by enemy antiaircraft fire. Rather than attempting to land, he dove on his target to his death.
