Private First Class Rivenburgh was a member of Company G, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division. On May 15, 1975, he was a passenger in a Sikorsky Sea Stallion Cargo Helicopter (CH-53) over Cambodian waters when it crashed. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. PFC Rivenburgh's remains have been recovered and identified.
