Major Ravenna was a member of 138th Army Security Agency (ASA) Company, 224th ASA Battalion, U.S. Army Security Group. On November 15, 1966, he was the pilot of a DeHavilland Beaver Utility Aircraft (U-6A) on a routine flight from Dong Ha to Da Nang, South Vietnam. Weather conditions were poor and contact was lost when his aircraft was about 45 miles from Dong Ha. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
