Staff Sergeant Prevedel was a member of Detachment B-52, 5th Special Forces Group. On April 17, 1969, he was a member of a reconnaissance team about 9 miles from Laos in Thua Thien Province, South Vietnam and under attack. He was declared Missing in Action. His remains were recovered on November 16, 1991 and identified on November 18, 2003. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
