Staff Sergeant Perry was a member of Detachment A-105, 5th Special Forces Group. On May 10, 1968, he was a medic tending the wounded at Ngok Tavak, South Vietnam and was declared Missing in Action. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
