Notes
Major Palmer was a veteran of World War II. During the Korean War, he was a pilot stationed at the Experimental Test Pilot School, Edwards Air Force Base, Muroc, California. On October 3, 1951, he was flying a B-26 bomber on a training mission when it crashed and exploded in the desert just off Highway 40-50 near the Salt Lake City municipal airport.
