Private First Class Oliver was a member of the 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in North Korea on April 23, 1951 and returned to duty on May 21, 1951. He was seriously wounded again on June 26, 1951 and returned on June 29, 1951. He died of other causes in Korea on September 6, 1951.
