Sergeant First Class Oden was the Radio Section Chief, Headquarters Battery, 38th Field Artillery Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy near Kunu-ri, North Korea on November 29, 1950 and died as a prisoner of war on March 20, 1951.
