Captain Nash was a member of 20th Aviation Detachment (later known as the 131st Aviation Company). On March 15, 1966, he was the co-pilot of a Grumman Mohawk Aircraft (OV-1A) conducting a photo run along route 91 on the west side of the Se Nam Kok River 11 miles northwest of Tchepone, Laos. His aircraft was shot down by anti-aircraft fire and he was killed. His remains were recovered and identified on February 5, 2010. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. Captain Nash is buried at the Arlington National Cemetery.
