Colonel Morgan was a member of the 366th Tactical Fighter Wing, Danang, South Vietnam. On November 10, 1967, he was the pilot of a McDonnell Douglas Phantom II Fighter (F-4C) on a mission over Dong Hoi, North Vietnam. During the aircraft's dive bombing, communications were lost. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
