Staff Sergeant Moore was a member of Company C, 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. On February 16, 1969, he was at an observation post 50 yards outside of the perimeter of Tay Ninh, South Vietnam, when he received heavy enemy fire. He was listed as Missing in Action. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
