Hospital Corpsman Third Class McNea was assigned to Company H, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was wounded on November 29, 1950 at Hagaru-ri, North Korea and returned to duty shortly thereafter. He was Killed in Action while tending his wounded comrades near Hoensong, South Korea on March 2, 1951.
