Captain Marshall was a member of 1131st Special Activities Squadron. On September 5, 1965, he was the pilot of an Attack Aircraft Skyraider (A-1) that took off from Bien Hoa Air Base, South Vietnam and was seen to crash with no ejections. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
