Captain Lindstrom was a member of the 25th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Ubon Air Base, Thailand. On January 2, 1970, he was the pilot of a McDonnell Douglas Phantom II Fighter (F-4D) on an operational mission near the Sepone River in Savannakhet Province. Laos about 10 miles from the South Vietnam border, when his aircraft crashed. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
