Chief Warrant Officer, Second Class LaGrand was a member of 197th Aviation Company, 145th Aviation Battalion. On September 5, 1965, he was a passenger in a Douglas Attack Aircraft Skyraider (A-1) the departed Bien Hoa Air Base, South Vietnam and crashed shortly thereafter. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
