Notes
Major Jones was a member of the 469th Tactical Fighter Squadron. On January 5, 1968, he was the pilot of a Thunderchief Fighter (F-105D) on a strike mission over North Vietnam, when his aircraft was hit by hostile fire. He parachuted safely to the ground, but contact was lost. His remains were recovered on August 14, 1985 and identified on October 7, 1985. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
