Notes
Corporal Johnson was a member of Company L, 3rd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on September 18, 1950 and returned to duty on October 29, 1950. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy in North Korea on November 25, 1950 and died while a prisoner on April 30, 1951. CPL Johnson's remains have been recovered and identified. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
