Private First Class Jablonski was a member of Company D, 3rd Battalion, 47th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division. On June 27, 1969, he was on a combat mission in Kien Hoa Province in the Delta Region of South Vietnam. As he tried to cross a stream 30 meters wide and 20 feet deep, he lost his grip on a single rope and was drowned in the strong current. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
