Sergeant Hill was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Sergeant Hill was a member of Company G, 2nd Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on July 30, 1950 and returned to duty on August 28, 1950. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on November 27, 1950. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. SGT Hill's remains have been recovered and identified in 2010. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
