The remains of 2LT Herbert have been recovered and are interred at Arlington National Cemetery at a gravesite with the co-mingled remains of 2LT William L. Covington and 2LT Harold M. Bachman. His name is permanently inscribed on the Tablets of the Missing at the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial.
