Notes
Sergeant Hefta was a member of Company L, 3rd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. On February 14, 1951, he was defending his position along the main supply route to Chipyong, South Korea when his company was attacked by a force of 1,000 Chinese. He was taken Prisoner of War. He died while a prisoner on April 10, 1951. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
