Joseph Harwood was an American man from Nova Scotia, Canada working as a quartermaster on board the ship "SS FINLAND". He died on September 23, 1926 while aboard The "SS Finland", as a result of a steam-pipe explosion. He was initially buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery, then reinterred at Corozal American Cemetery in 1979.
