Captain Harrison was a member of Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 2nd Battalion, 94th Artillery Regiment, 108th Artillery Group. On October 29, 1968, he was the pilot of a Cessna Bird Dog Observation Aircraft (O-1G) on an artillery adjustment mission along the Demilitarized Zone when the aircraft was hit by anti-aircraft fire and crashed to the ground in North Vietnam. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
