Sergeant Grissett was a member of the 1st Marine Reconnaissance Company, 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division. He was taken Prisoner of War and on January 22, 1966, he died in captivity. His remains were recovered on January 23, 1989 and identified on July 27 1989. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
