Specialist, Fifth Class Ford was a member of Company B, 65th Engineer Combat Battalion, 25th Infantry Division. On December 9, 1968, he was sweeping for mines when a large mine exploded below him. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
