80 year old Harry Lee Ferguson was born in Greenville, Mississippi. After graduating from the University of Mississippi, he went to Ecuador and worked as the assistant resident engineer of the Guay and Quito Railroad. He moved to the Isthmus of Panama on January 25, 1908 and was assigned as Foreman of the breakwater construction at Toro Point. He died on February 9, 1955 at Coronado, California. He was buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery then reinterred at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1979 with his wife, Charlotte Kirby Ferguson, and son, James Wragg Ferguson.
