Sergeant Farley was born in Colorado on July 7, 1880 and served as a Private in Company A, New York Volunteers in the Philippines during the Spanish-American War. He was discharged November 15, 1898. He reenlisted and served as a Sergeant in Company E 27th Regiment and discharged on April 1, 1901 with a disability from Typhoid and Malaria Fever. He moved to the canal zone and worked for the Panama Canal Company. He died on December 25, 1928 and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
