Chief Warrant Officer, Second Class Eads was a member of Troop F, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 23rd Infantry Division. On April 23, 1970, he was the pilot of a Bell Cobra Attack Helicopter (AH-1G) conducting a night evacuation of a long range reconnaissance patrol about 10 miles southwest of An Hoa, Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam, when contact was lost with the aircraft. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
