Lieutenant Dozier was a crew member of a PB4Y-2S Privateer patrol bomber with Patrol Bomber Squadron 12, based at the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, Texas. On March 21, 1952, his aircraft spun in after takeoff killing all ten crewmen.
