Lance Corporal Dewberry was a member of Company D, 1st Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. On July 5, 1968, he was killed by the enemy while on patrol in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
