Joseph De Maria was born in New Jersey on July 19, 1914. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force and served as a Sergeant during World War II. After the war, he worked as a civilian for the U.S. Navy in the Canal Zone. Upon retire from the Navy he remained in Panama. He died on March 6, 1972 and was buried in the Corozal American Cemetery.
