Luis De La PeÃ±a was born in Salces, Spain on August 24, 1872. On September 2, 1902, he immigrated to the Unites States and married Emilia Maulini. He became a naturalized citizen on June 15, 1912. Worked in the Canal Zone from 1904 to 1912. He was contracted to move to Corinto, Nicaragua on December 22, 1915 to work as a Sanitary Inspector. He died on February 28, 1918. He was buried at Corinto, Nicaragua and re-interred at Corozal American Cemetery in 1942. After Luis's death, Emilia De La PeÃ±a moved to Mexico where she died on May 31, 1944.
