Josephine Katherine De Frees was born in Virginia on March 1, 1901. She married James Stuart De Frees on October 1, 1918 in Richmond, Virginia and accompanied him on his various assignments in the Army. James retired and they remained in the Canal Zone. She died on August 23, 1960. She was buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery then reinterred at the Corozal American Cemetery next to her husband, James Stuart De Frees, in 1979.
