Edmonston John Davis was born at Lake City, Florida on November 15, 1899. During World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Army on October 7, 1942. After the war he remained on reserve status until he retired as a Staff Sergeant and lived in Panama. He died at the Gorgas Army Hospital on July 13, 1973 and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
