Captain Davis was a member of the 56th Special Operations Wing, Udorn Airfield, Thailand. On August 18, 1969, he was the pilot of a Cessna Bird Dog Observation Aircraft (O-1A) over the Plain of Jars, Xiangkhoang Province, Laos. His aircraft was shot down 15 miles northeast of Ban Na Mai. His remains were recovered on April 6, 1994 and identified on August 21, 1995. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
