Avelino David was born in Monte Llano, Puerto Rico on November 11, 1875. He married Maria M. David. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on October 28, 1904 and was promoted to Sergeant, Company D, Puerto Rican Regiment at Fort Davis, Canal Zone. After his Army service he was employed as a civilian with the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps. He died on September 11, 1935 at the Colon Hospital and was buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery then reinterred at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1979 near his wife, Maria.
