David Hunter Dare was born in Los Angeles, California on March 12, 1912. He married Zelda C. Dare and worked as a vegetable manager. They moved to Panama and Zelda died on November 24, 1954. He then married Yolanda Dare and they lived at Quebrada Lopez, Republic of Panama. He worked for the Panama Canal Company. On March 4, 1966, he was promoted to General Foreman, Lock Operation. Upon retirement he remained in Panama. He died on September 21, 1991 at the Centro Medico Paitilla and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery near his first wife, Zelda.
