Captain Cutrer was a member of the 405th Fighter Wing. On August 6, 1964, he was the pilot of a Martin Canberra Bomber (B-57B) on an operational mission over South Vietnam. Contact with the aircraft was lost when it was northeast of Tan Son Nhut Airfield. His remains were recovered on May 21, 1997 and identified on October 25, 2001. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
