Jaime Cruz-Segarra was born in Yauco, Puerto Rico on December 16, 1923. On April 1, 1940, he worked as an Aircraft Mechanic at Puerto Rico Air Depot, Borinquen Field, Puerto Rico. On May 5, 1943, he enlisted in the US Army Air Force serving as a Corporal at the Air Force Training Center, Albrook, Canal Zone, during World War II. He was discharged on January 12, 1946. He remained in Panama working for the Panama Canal Company. He died on January 16, 2002 and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
