Amanda Mavalena Smithwhich De Crichlow was born in Barbados in 1883. She married Alexander Crichlow and moved to the Canal Zone so that Alexander could work for the Panama Canal Company. They lived at Red Tank, Balboa, Panama Canal. After Alexander's retirement they remained in Panama. She died on August 13, 1973 at Home and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
