William Henry Crawford was born in Bethelahen, Pennsylvania on November 21, 1860. He enlisted as a Private in the US Army on November 5, 1887 and was assigned to Company E, 23rd Infantry. He was discharged October 6, 1888. On October 19, 1904 and visited Limon, Costa Rica. He moved to Ancon, Canal Zone and worked for the Panama Railroad Company. Upon retirement he remained in Panama. He died on September 18, 1929. He was buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery then re-interred at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1979.
